September 2013

A quieter month with 33021 available for service as standby locomotive on a reduced timetable.
Work included a set of new brake blocks and a further working day on the inside of the engine room.

August  2013

33021 had a busy month including giving Peppa Pig and her friends a helping hand as an insurance policy for the N7 who was struggling a little.

Good working day on 33021 - working on rubbing down and priming parts of the engine room - much more to follow - help always appreciated.
Sophie (33102) had a confrontation with a tree at the start of the month leading to damage to windows and bodywork, let's hope that the repairs are quick and effective as so much work had gone into making her look superb.

Captain Charles was used on two Cauldon runs at both ends of the month and on the 24th both he and Sophie were in use on the railway

July 2013

Busy month again various duties keeping the Captain busy

June 2013

33021 covered a few service trains this month, out on a rescue.

Also some ECS moves and plenty of yard shunting at Cheddleton have kept Captain Charles busy this month

May 2013

33021 had a busy month  but 33102 was back in action for the start of the month diesel up Cauldon day, which was great news for Martin, Nick and the team who have worked so hard on her.

On the 27th 33021 covered the loco-hauled set diagram for two train running with the DMU.

April 2013

33021 was again looking after the diesel duties at the Churnet Valley Railway and had a busy month. A working day on April 6th prepared him for the coming season and he was immediately called into action to cover the day’s passenger turns on April 7th, for the other operating days 33021 was on standby but not required.

 March 2013

As 33102 was getting a little more TLC in the shed at Cheddleton, Captain Charles 33021 held the fort carrying out a range of duties behind the scenes.

Feb 2013

Usual quiet month, 33021 is holding the fort at Cheddleton,  mainly involved in moving vehicles and engineering work. Also the movement of steam locomotives in and out to the loading point for the Feb steam gala, which appeared to be a great success, 33021 was on standby but not required.

Jan 2013

Following service on the mince pie specials Captain Charles has  been available throughout Jan in supporting closed season works at the Churnet Valley Railway; again as the only mainline diesel whilst Sophie (33102) has further work completed. The loco will be supporting some private charter work in Feb. It has now been agreed that 33021 will remain on the CVR until at least the end of May meaning that it will be available for the May 4th Diesel day.
