33021 is now re-named as ‘Captain Charles’ being named on July 23rd, many  thanks to the team at Cheddleton who gave him a bit of the ‘royal’ treatment of  silver buffers and white lamp irons for the day. We think he looks far smarter
with his new image and comments received to date already agree.

Captain  Charles joins 33102 'Sophie' and 20059 at CVR Diesel Gala         Sept 2012

This month saw the results of a number of weeks preparation in getting 33021 into his new livery in time for a big surprise launch at the CVR 2012 diesel gala. We would like to thank all who helped in getting him ready (often  involving long days / evenings) {you know who you are}, in between a number of duties. Also to those who helped keep his new identity secret until the day of the gala. We certainly turned a few heads!

Captain Charles was really playing a supporting role to the re-launch back into service after years of really hard work of 33102 which was named officially Sophie after years of carrying it unofficially. Well done to the small team who worked on her - you did an superb job. Also to 20059 who visited from the SVR again credit to  the team involved.
